WELCOME HOME EAGLES!!!

After weeks of rainy weather, the skies cleared. Maybe it was inevitable, considering the positive energy created by hundreds--actually, over a thousand—people of all ages, backgrounds and lifestyles coming together for one single reason: love for our School.
With the Sierra Madre as our majestic backdrop, the “M” that looked down upon us for so many years as we grew up, and now “Huasteca” to guide present and future generations to greater heights, we came together. We laughed, we hugged, we celebrated. We marveled at the growth in our School. We revisited our long-gone original campus on Hidalgo Street through priceless pictures we feared we’d never see again, and for a moment, we were children again in our old playground.
We chorused a new song that commemorates 75 years of being. We applauded current students, gifted young actors and singers who proved, once again, how talent and creativity have always flourished at ASFM. We remembered beloved teachers and classmates who are no longer with us physically, but oh, were their spirits ever so with us today.
Never has our Pep Song sounded quite as moving as when thirteen hundred voices inside a packed gym sang “Here’s to the school that we honor…” If you were here, you know what we mean. If you weren’t, come next time and feel with us. Again.
