| 4th Grade Camp Out 2008-2009 |
This year, our 4th grade generation, enjoyed a team building camp out experience at the Huasteca Campus. The students worked together in teams completing group challenges and playing team building games to build relationships and trust, and to work together to solve problems. |

| Let's get it started! |
| The 4th graders first arrived at Huasteca Campus on Friday afternoon and met in the gymnasium for some introductions and games. We played ?The Boat is Sinking? so students could get to know each other even better by grouping themselves into things they had in common. |

| Canyon Activities |
|
Half of the students went out to the Huasteca Canyon to play games and have fun. What a beautiful place to be!!!
They played Chuck the Chicken, a fun game to get you running around and giggling. Then they played Shrinking World, a team problem solving game, and they did something called a Trust Fall, to practice trust. We ended up with Human Pyramids. It was amazing being surrounded by the striking mountains while we played our games and had fun together. |

| Fun at Night |
|
That night the kids enjoyed some free time after dinner playing tetherball, basketball, football, singing, and roasting marshmallows. It was cool just hanging out with friends at the Huasteca Campus and sleeping in the school. |

| Campus Activities |
|
While half of the students were in the canyon doing games, the other half were on campus doing team activities.
One game we played was Keep it Up, where the whole team worked together keeping the balls in the air, first one ball, then two, then three, and so on! Great teamwork! Another activity was The Living Portrait. That was a team challenge where the kids recreated a portrait using only themselves and random supplies like paper, tape and props. Another team activity was creating a time cheer, a team name and a banner! The students showed terrific team spirit and lots of artistic talent !!

| Lunch Time |
|
After a full day of games and activities the kids were hungry!! Fortunately, the kids who were in charge of preparing the food for everyone had been busy at work dividing up the food on the plates, icing the cupcakes and organizing everything so we could all eat. It was a lot of fun and filled with practical problem solving too!! The quote of the day was?. ?so we really do use math!?

|
| Closing Ceremonies |
| We wrapped up the weekend sharing our team cheers, writing warm fuzzy notes for our team members, and saying our good byes after 24 hours of team building fun!! We were all exhausted but happy. Team Building Rocks? the 4th graders worked together to solve challenges, they made new friends, and learned to trust each other and listen to each other more!! Well done 4th grade!! What a fun and enriching experience. |
