ASFM has been using PowerSchool® since the 2006-2007 academic year, and we are pleased with the results and look forward to continued increases in both its usage and uses.

PowerSchool is a Student Information System which handles student, staff, and class information from grades to attendance and from parent notifications to dicipline reports. It has portals for:

  • administrative personnel
  • students, and parents (view demo)
  • teachers (view demo of interaction between teacher input and parent views)

PowerGrade

Another large piece of PowerSchool for teachers is a web-enabled gradebook called PowerGrade (PG). PG is used in our MSHS campus.

Here is a guide which explains how grades are calculated by PowerGrade in MSHS Campus.

Emails in PowerSchool!
Students in Grades 9-12 are required to keep an accurate email address registered in PowerSchool that they check every two days. (Login, Click on Email Setup, type an email (or two) in the field, and press Submit. Teachers may then use these emails to send school-related communication.

Passwords
It is imperative for all staff, students, and parents to have a secret and secure login account password for PowerSchool since you are dealing with such sensitive information as grades, contact information, etc. If you lose your password, you can contact school secretaries to have it emailed to you.

Parent Access
We encourage all of our parents to make use of their access to keep track of student information provided there.
